2018 Member & Open Exhibition Guidelines

M   Members’ Exhibitions——$10 for one/$15 for two. All works, must be framed, wired, and suitable for hanging. Maximum of two entries per artist, three entries for 3-D. You may submit one piece not to exceed 42” or two pieces not to exceed 36” in any direction. (Longest outside edge of frame.) Copies of masters’ works are not eligible; work which has been exhibited at the Center is not eligible; work done with an instructor is not eligible. Membership must be current. Prizes will be awarded in all categories with 10 or more participants. There are $100 first prizes and $50 second prizes in each category. Faculty members not considered for awards but are encouraged to exhibit. A 30% commission will be retained by the CAC.

M   Sacrifice Art Sale—Membership must be current. Inventory sheet required, items must be marked with number, name & price on the front of each piece to correspond with inventory sheet. Prices should reflect the spirit of a Sacrifice Sale & should be significantly discounted from regular pricing. $10 entry fee for the lot. CAC may limit amount of items as needed! Donated items can be submitted free of charge. A 30% commission will be retained by the CAC.

M   Alternate Views—Membership must be current. Limited space available, members must submit an application. Both pieces must be the same size, composition, medium, and identically framed. The difference- Atmosphere, Light or Season. A 30% commission will be retained by the CAC. Do you want to submit four pieces? Please call!

M   Holiday and Small Works Sale—Membership must be current. Inventory sheet required, items must be marked with number, name & price on the front of each piece to correspond with inventory sheet. $10 entry fee for the lot. A 30% commission will be retained by the CAC. Handmade items include: pottery, jewelry, paper, fabric, metal wood, etc. Small works Image area should be 10x12 for smaller. Small works must be framed, wired, and suitable for hanging.

O   Student Exhibition — If you took a Class or Workshop with us in 2017 or 2018 you are eligible to submit your work. Work must have been done in class or done as a result of the class. You may submit up to two 2-D works, or up to three 3-D works! A 30% commission will be retained by the CAC.

O   All Works Square — Show is Open to all, both Members & Non-members, All Mediums, Juried. All work must be square both in the image and framing. $10 per entry – Two maximum– Prizes will be Awarded: One Best in Show -$200, Two First Prizes-$100 each, Two Second Prizes-$75 each, in two Categories —Small Squares (Up to and including 17x17), Large Squares (larger than 17x17.)A 40% commission will be retained by the CAC. Frames should not exceed 40 inches in any direction. 

O   23rd Annual Juried All Cape Art Show—Fee: $20 for 1 or 2 entries (flat rate) All mediums, all subjects Cash prizes will be awarded. Artist must reside in Barnstable County. Paintings must be suitably framed and ready to hang. Frames may not exceed 42 inches in any direction. Three-dimensional work should be constructed of any substantial material not exceeding 40 inches in any direction. Works that cannot be accommodated will not be accepted. All works must be for sale. All work must be original. Work done under the guidance of an instructor is ineligible.  There must be at least 15 participants in a category for prizes to be awarded. Work must be delivered to CAC on the specified entry day. A self-addressed stamped envelope must accompany each entry. A 40% commission will be retained by the CAC.

M – Membership must be current to participate!
O – Open to all, some restrictions apply!

Liability: The Creative Arts Center will exercise care in handling works but is not responsible for any damage that may occur during moving or hanging. The artwork will be insured against fire and theft during the exhibition.


Our partners make a valuable contribution to the smooth operations of our Center. Their contributions help to house our workshop instructors, help with the Festival of the Arts, children's tent, and shuttle buses, as well as six Faculty Demonstrations to collect food donations to benefit the Family Pantry of Cape Cod.
