Love the elegance and exquisite composition of this image. Beautiful light and great sense of moment

I love this image for its sense of mystery. Great use of depth of field & layering. The rolling hills, layered fog & delicate line of trees on the hill in the distance really draws the viewer in and adds to the richness of this image.

I chose this image because it is a very unique and creative perspective. Photography should surprise us and show us a version of the world we don’t usually see and this image certainly does that.

The light and texture in this image is just exquisite. Really captures the beauty of the dancer and a sense that she is in flight.

Beautiful use of composition and color. The contrast between the organic leaves and the lines of the bricks is visually compelling.

Simply a beautiful image of a creature hard to capture. Beautiful light filtering through the wings and wonderful detail in the feathers and the grass. Love the sense of moment.

The detail and technical skill in this shot is striking. Macro photography is difficult to do well and this image uses it perfectly to capture the beauty and complexity of our natural world.

Love the expressiveness of this portrait as well as the wonderful texture and muted colors in it. Great use of framing and light.

Intriguing image and wonderful use of abstraction and composition. Despite the fact that it’s an abstract, it feels like there’s a sense of story to it.

Wow. What a sense of connection & moment in this image. It’s very difficult to capture foxes in their natural setting and this image not only does that but also does it with exquisite light Illuminating the vixen and her cub.

Honorable Mention Jim McQuaid "Wuilia Bay"

One of those landscapes that does a wonderful job of evoking emotion. Beautiful light and great tonal range.

Fantastically expressive portrait. The fist in the foreground—made large by the perspective—really adds to the sense of drama.

Honorable Mention Elizabeth Brooke "Coopers Hawk"

The light and detail in this photograph are striking. The shallow depth of field really draws attention to the expressive face of the hawk.

There is a lovely sense of narrative in this image of a Cuban scene. Love the visual layering, light and rich texture.
