SUPPLY LIST
PAPER
I prefer Arches- FRENCH PAPER, 140 LB, COLD PRESS
Some people buy a block, get one that has 11x15” sheets
You can buy full sheets of paper, 22x30”, these can easily be divided into 4 pieces
When you use good paper & paints, your chance of success mounts immediately. Don’t waste money on cheap products.
BRUSHES
Watercolor brushes (not oil or acrylic)
Rather than buying a set in a plastic container, just buy 3 or 4 round brushes. Number 4, 8, 10 or 12 and a large brush24 or 32. Also a script brush is good to have and a 1” flat brush.
You need to attach paper to such as plexiglass or masonite.

Victoria Templeton is an accomplished artist and educator with a strong foundation in creative arts, beginning in her native San Francisco. After earning a degree in Theater Arts from Loyola Marymount, she spent over twenty years in retail management in the luxury designer fashion industry. However, always intrigued with designers and their creative processes, she rededicated herself fully to fine art. Under the close mentorship of master painter Roger Armstrong at the Laguna College of Art and Design, Victoria developed a teaching philosophy that encourages students to embrace risk and view painting as a expressive creative process. Failure is encouraged in order to grow. To quote her beloved mentor, “Its only paper and paint!” She was invited to continue Armstrong’s classes and expanded to teaching in several locations as her popularity grew. She also led several workshops, fostering a safe environment where students could experiment, fail and grow. “Its just paper and paint” is one of her mottos.
Since relocating to Cape Cod in 2015, Victoria has focused on her own artistic practice. She wanted to build a new body of work. The beauty and light of New England intrigue her and she loves to play with bold color. Her work has been featured in local and national exhibitions and has received recognition. She has returned to teaching and has participated in many venues. Victoria’s approach to art and teaching is rooted in curiosity, play, and authentic engagement with her subjects, working in various mediums as inspiration dictates. She maintains a studio at The Old Schoolhouse in Barnstable Village.
